2007 Dress Code
Each year, the Board of Governors reviews and issues the Dress Code for our clubhouse area, and our golf course.
PURPOSE: This policy is intended to assure that all members and quests using CCC facilities comply with a standard of dress. It is understood that this policy is for enhancing the benefits and pleasure of the membership at CCC. The Board recognizes that standards and styles change, thus this policy is reaffirmed each year.
LOCATIONS: There are four distinct locations where dress codes apply: the golf course, the tennis courts, the main & Griswold dining rooms, and the Grill Room. TIME/EVENT: Evenings or dining hours are between 6:00 pm and closing. Golf related events such as leagues and tournaments are considered differently than regular business times.
Special parties must have minimum standards such as golf attire, but may, at the discretion of the CCC management or Board, require business casual, business formal, or formal attire.
DEFINITIONS:
GOLF ATTIRE includes shirts, tops, shorts, pants, shoes, socks/hosiery, and hats. A simple guideline for golf attire is anything sold in the CCC Pro Shop or items in golf catalogs available from our Pro or Asst. Pro that they deem appropriate in accordance with the above standard. This attire may be worn on the golf course all day, in the Grill Room day and night, and in the Griswold & Main Dining rooms until 6:00 pm on regular business days. Golf attire is acceptable in all dining areas during leagues and tournaments.
Acceptable Shirts are collared, mock turtlenecks, turtlenecks. These shirts may have a manufacturer’s logo, but slogans of any kind are prohibited. Slogans are not allowed on windbreakers or rain suits as well. Not acceptable are round (crew) or V-neck common tee shirts, tank tops, sleeveless shirts for men, and mesh shirts. Ladies may wear sleeveless blouses/shirts with collars or sleeves with open or collared blouses/shirts. All shirts for men must be tucked in. Exception: “T” shirts without slogans may be worn on the tennis courts and may be on the outside of the pants/shorts.
Acceptable Shorts are those that accept belts or in some cases do have elastic support with front button or snap closures. Not acceptable are short shorts (more than 6” above the knee top), cut- offs of any kind, athletic shorts (gym shorts), or any shorts with draw string supports. Exception: athletic shorts are allowed on the tennis courts.
Acceptable Pants are the same standards as shorts except for the obvious full length. One additional note here is that sweat pants are not acceptable. Jeans are allowed in the Grill Room only.
Acceptable Shoes are golf shoes with molded bottoms or soft spikes, sneakers (exception: no high top basketball style), rubbers, all of which are specially designed and sold for golf, and walking shoes with soft soles. No athletic molded shoes, spikes, “street” shoes” of any type, hiking boots, or work boots.
Acceptable Hats are what are commonly known as “baseball caps”, sun hats, and rain hats. Athletic slogans and logos are allowed on hats. Hats should not be worn at any time while at a table in the Dining, Griswold, or Grillroom. During regular business days, hats should be removed after 6:00 pm at the bar. Hats are acceptable at the bar during league nights and tournaments.
Socks/Hosiery are not required with proper golf shoes, but are encouraged.
COUNTRY CLUB CASUAL ATTIRE Rather than defining every aspect of this, suffice it to say that it is a cut above golf attire, and is also known as Business Casual. No shorts, sneakers, golf shoes, hats, rain jackets, jeans, windbreakers etc. Shoes, socks/hosiery, long pants, dressier blouses and shirts are required. Good common sense business/ office attire. For men this requires the addition of a sport/suit jacket in the Griswold and Main Dining Rooms after 6:00 pm during regular business days, and is suggested with or without the jacket for the Grill Room.
COUNTRY CLUB FORMAL ATTIRE
Based on the function, the Club Management or Board may require Country Club Casual plus a tie for men, a suit for men or women, a business dress for women, or “black tie” attire for men and women.
This policy applies to all members’ their guests and children 15 years of age and over.
Children under 15 should have neat, appropriate attire.
As with all policies, the Board has final responsibility for enforcement. Members will receive written notification should adherence to this policy become an issue. Further actions will be in accordance with CCC rules and by-laws.
